i switched to the royal purple filter to see reduced fuel economy and hp. You can feel the difference in throttle response with this filter. It being made for racing, its meant for higher flow rates for heavy weight oils which is a benefit for my titan

Easyest oil changes ever
I first bought this on a recommendation from a member on a toyota forum to make the oil changes on my old 4runner easyer. Since them I have installed them on everything. The oil filter on my 4runner rock crawler and xterra are easy enough to get to but my mother's Vw beetle and my wife's honda CRV have the filter in a hard to reach places but with this all I need is a 1 inch socket, ratchet and extention. I also use he extention and socket without the ratchet to put the filter on by hand. No more keeping a huge pile of filter wrenches around anymore just some sockets.

Install Flash Player Easy to use. Perfect fit when used with cross reference. Nut allows you to tighten to torque spec, and secure with bailing wire so that filter does not blow off under load. Recommended for extended oil change intervals. This filter is designed in the style of racing equipment, to be sold to people who do not race. I've personally used K&N filters for more years than I care to remember. I've never had an engine failure due to the K&N filter. Just like boutique oil, this was a complete waste of money. I've personally witnessed decades of fleet service maintenance. Bulk oil within the correct spec, and generic filters, with oil changes at OEM suggested oil change intervals. No fancy oil. No designer filters. No extended oil change intervals. Commercial and fleet use vehicles drive hundreds of miles daily, and operate around the clock as 1 shift hands the keys to the next shift. 1,000+ miles a week, 50,000+ miles a year = 1/4 million miles in 5 years. Not 1 catastrophic engine failure attributed to cheap oil & filters.

The Only Filter I Use - 2008 1.8L Civic Sedan
Even though the oil filter is in an accessible place on the 1.8L engine of my Honda Civic, the addition of the 1" nut eliminates the need to grab a filter wrench! I use AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-20 and change the oil every 3,000 miles along with the K&N filter, and with averaging 3,000 miles a month, this filter cuts down on change time and makes everything easier. While 3,000 miles isn't a long oil change interval, my oil comes out clean and smooth, unlike the Honda filters that the dealer used to install when under warranty. I haven't experienced any leaks from the nut like others, but I only use the nut to remove the filter -- most people probably tighten the filter using the nut which could be the issue. Overall a great oil filter and after about 20 of these filters (most of them bought in-store), they've held up well.

The best oil filters for our car
We've got an older model Nissan Maxima, which requires regular oil changes to keep running as well as it is, and these K&N oil filters seem to be the best filters available for our car. We've used some of the house-brand filters from our local car parts stores, and while they're OK, I just have a better confidence level with K&N products, after having had such good past experience with their other filter products (such as air filters) for our car. I had a really easy time attaching this oil filter, which seems to be made to highest specifications, and we also make sure to use a magnetic drain plug with whichever filter we install, to reduce metal debris flowing around in the oil.

Best filter. Period!
When it comes to filters, K&N filters are superb. Easy to install. Easy to remove. Excellent filtration and perfect for synthetic oils and extended oil change intervals.

Awesome great new price!
I remember K&N oil filters used to be a lot more expensive than Mobil 1 Extended filters. But the price has come down now. Both are some of the best filters according to all my research. So I would use whatever it is on sale! I used both brand filter for a 5000 or 7500 mile oil change interval using Mobil 1 synth on all my cars. the nut on top of the filter is a cool concept, but for a weekend car mechanic like my self the nut size is pretty big! unless I use an adjustable wrench which i tried to avoid. And I do not even have a big enough socket or wrench to fit the nut on the oil filter. So to me that nut is useless. I do have a oil wrench that i prefer if i cannot get the oil filter off with my hands. Overall its a great filter to go with synthetic oils.

K&N Quality
I have had K&N air filters on my vehicles for years. I love the quality of their products. We used to take our cars to the local oil change place, but the prices kept creeping up. I found that I could purchase oil and filters through Amazon and pay the same price, but with much higher quality. Once I saw the K&N oil filters, I on Amazon, I was sold. The wrench off end is a definite bonus and makes the process much easier.

The filter for the way I drive. Lots of miles.
I need to make a few things clear about this oil filter. Yes I give the performance of this filter a 5 star rating, but the only issue I have is the way it was shipped to me. When I have bought this filter from auto parts stores, the filter was sealed in shrink wrap! This one was left open, as if people were tossing it around like a baseball!
